Recently we changed the belt on a hp 500 designjet and although the belt was installed correctly using as a guide your video, the plotter keeps trying align the print heads in a loop cycle. we've tried everything. we read on a forum that the carriage has two bushes that if installed upside down could cause this but we didn't see any bushes on the carriage. any thoughts? Designjet 500 Ink Supply Station does not fit

Posted by Bob Wert on

he space for Ink Supply Station on hp is too small for new ISS that you send me. The original ISS on the 500 & 800 had a bracket that held the assembly.  The bracket is not used with the newer style ISS and needs to be removed.  There is a T10 screw, usually colored red or blue in the area shown by the arrow.  Remove the screw, move the plastic toward the end of the machine and remove it.  Then install the new ISS where the bracket was installed.

I did a print test page and it didn’t print in color and was mostly yellow and black. I didn’t get any error message or anything until I ran a align printhead test...
