My Printer Won't Connect to My Windows 10 PC
Posted by Tim Wert on
Has your printer suddenly stopped working for no apparent reason? It seems Microsoft has rolled out an update that makes printing to your Designjet difficult or impossible. Your PC may have installed this update automatically without your knowledge.
Per Microsoft:
"After installing this update, certain printers might fail to print. The print spooler might throw an error or close unexpectedly when attempting to print, and no output will come from the affected printer."
This update can affect the Designjet 500, Designjet 800, Designjet T770, Designjet T1120, and other Designjet printers.
The update in question is update KB4560960

To fix this, go to Windows Updates, then View Update History, then Uninstall Updates and there should be a list. Sort by date to see the most recent.
After you uninstall the update, restart the PC.
You may not be able to uninstall the update manually, but you should be able to print if the host computer is rolled back. Good luck!
Note: if your PC has KB4557957 and/or KB4567523 installed, these updates may also interfere with your Designjet printer.

Windows 10 is a nightmare for us in Designjet 500 community. I have to run my 500 off an old windows 7 pro acting as a print server. Damn you MS
