If your machine is telling you "Open window and check printhead cover is properly closed," the most likely cause is the upper frame on the ink tube system is cracked or broken. The printhead cover on the carriage locks into the lower latch in the ink tube system. If the lower latch is compromised, the machine will not function.

Just Amazming!

I've had a HP 500 DesignJet for at least 20 years and LPS has provided me with detailed information to repair it many times. Always toe correct parts and detailed instruction to do mostly anything!! I hope I can keep this plotter going as I dont need much plotting, however its super nice to have it and even better to repair it and not spend another grand or 2. Bigs thanks to the LPS team!!!! Keep up the great support!

Solid Latch

Very durable replacement latch and works great. Kit also included 2 different size star drives (which I needed) to easily open the main top cover and the captive screw. Highly recommended.

Great latch repair kit

It works wonderfully and appears to be more durable than the original and was a much easier repair than replacing and priming the tube assembly woohoo!

It worked perfectly just make sure to follow the LPS install video! It cannot be overstated how flimsy the factory black plastic hp parts are that this product attaches to (which is why these all break in the first place)... so take your time and treat them with kid gloves when disassembling and align everything perfectly when reassembling and do not overtighten the screw.
