Before you start

A printhead that has been starved of ink for a long time may have burned out by firing air instead of ink. New seals will not bring it back.
Even after a short starvation, the ink bladder inside the printhead can collapse too far to refill, leaving the printhead permanently starved.
A poor electrical connection between printhead and carriage can look like a failed printhead. Clean the printhead contacts and the carriage contacts until neither feels tacky.
If the drop detector is covered in ink overspray, the printer will not finish print system setup even with perfect printheads. Clean the sensor.

Before You Begin: Important Considerations

Not every printhead can be saved. Here's what to check before starting your recovery:

Ink-starved printheads: A printhead that has run dry for an extended period may have burned itself out printing with air. In this case, seal replacement will not restore function.
Deflated ink diaphragm: If the internal diaphragm has collapsed too far, ink may not re-inflate it, resulting in a permanently starved printhead.
Poor electrical contacts: Dirty or tacky contacts between the printhead and carriage can cause false errors. Clean both surfaces thoroughly before diagnosing a failed printhead.
Drop detector sensor: If the drop detector is obscured by ink overspray, the printer will not complete print system setup, even with fully functional printheads. Inspect and clean this sensor as part of your recovery process.

I’m Sure the Kit Is Great But…

It did not work with my print head. I think my print head is too clogged as I was unsuccessful getting the cleaner sucked in. The effort has proven to be useless.
