Designjet 500, 800 21:10 Error after belt replacement

Posted by Bob Wert on

Thank you for your wonderful video on Youtube on how to replace the belt. I ordered the belt from LPS and it arrived yesterday and needless to say I spent last night putting it in. With the help from your video I managed to replace it and put the machine back together again.  However, as soon as I plugged it in, and the machine turned on, the carriageway tried to make a pass over the service station but came to a stop and error message 20:10 came up on the screen. Designjet 500 Service Station Installation Problem

Posted by Bob Wert on

I am trying to install the service station, and for whatever reason, the screw holes aren't lining up. Is there supposed to be a space in between the part and the machine? Putting the service station back into the plotter can be a little tricky the first time.  Hold the SS under the SS bracket and then go straight up and then in toward the frame.  There is a lip on the front edge of the SS that has to ride on top of a plastic ledge on the bracket.  When it is in correctly, it will be against the...

Designjet 500 Service Station Installation Instructions

Posted by Bob Wert on

Hi!  I just got a new service station from you.  Do you have a video or instruction sheet for the installation? Thanks! John The instruction for replacing the Designjet 500 service station are in the service manual, starting on page 8-52.  The service manual can be downloaded from Designjet 500, 800 Service Manual. If the carriage is locked over the service station, rotate the white plastic gears on the lower right of the service station until the carriage is free. Let me know if I can be of any further help.

Designjet 500 Rejecting Print Head

Posted by Bob Wert on

We just installed the printheads. Thanks so much for sending them out yesterday. However, the machine flashes the exclamation mark on the yellow printhead saying that it is worn out (on the new printhead). All of the other ones have their status as "inserted". Since acquiring the printer, we replaced the belt, the interconnect cable, the ink tube system, and the ink supply station. The printer finally prints, but the patterns come out like this (attached) and the machine says it failed to align the printheads. When the carriage moves, it seems as though there is a slight lag between...
