The carriage lock is part of the Service Station Bracket assembly. It immobilizes the carriage at the service station when the carriage is in the home position.

Part was just fine and tel support was also good. However, I should have paid more attention to the service manual than just the video directions for changing the belt. The video left out the part about lifting up the carriage lock when removing the service tray and as a result I broke the carriage lock. A note about this on the front page addendum in the instructions provided would be useful.
